The World That Never Was

Home to Organization XIII, TWTNW can be found in the game after completing the task of entering the worlds a second time and defeating certain Org. XIII members. Residing in the Realm of Twilight, TWTNW has its fair share of Nobodies as well as Heartless. Upon entering this world in the game, many events occur, such as the meeting of Sora and Roxas, the reunion of Sora, Kairi, and Riku, and the final confrontation with the remaining Org. XIII members.

Memory's Skyscraper
As Sora and co. arrive to the large building centered in the middle of the Dark City, they encounter Sora's other half, Roxas. As Sora is confused to who this person can be, Donald and Goofy are held back by Samurai Nobodies. Roxas then rushes towards Sora and attacks, the two transporting into an area similar to the Dive into the Heart sequence. The two battle fiercely, and Roxas questions why 'someone' chose Sora. Some believe he is speaking of the Keyblade, while others believe he is referring to DiZ. In any event, pinned down without his Keyblade, it seems as if Sora has lost. However, he summons the Keyblade back to his hand, a feat that surprises Roxas, and defeats him. At the end of the battle, as Roxas disappears, he commends Sora on his ability as his other half. Returning to the Dark City, it seems as if Donald and Goofy were oblivious to the huge event that just occurred.
A transfigured version, called Memory's Contortion is also visited as part of the final battle against Xemnas.
In Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix: Not only does the cutscene stated above occur, but it is now a playable event as you fight against Roxas on the Dive into the Heart platform. At the end of the battle, a new cutscene with Axel and Roxas sitting on top of the Twilight Town clock tower plays. In it, they talk about whether they will see each other again, and the possibility of Roxas being a Nobody with a heart.

Hall of Empty Melodies 1&2
In this area, Xigbar appears to face Sora and co. As he greets Sora (as Roxas at first), he mentions that Sora is not as strong as the others were, alluding to the idea that he knew other Keyblade weilders. After the battle, Sora and co. continues forward through the castle, heading through Naught's Skyway to the upper half of the Hall of Empty Melodies. Here, the three finally meet up with Kairi, who they came for, only to realize that "Ansem" was with her. However, after Kairi explains that it is truly Riku, the three friends from Destiny Islands have a touching moment.

Proof of Existence
In this room resides the "tombs" of all the Org. XIII members excluding Xemnas. THe room is in shambles, as it seems someone had a rampage within the walls, breaking several of the "tombstones" and completely obliterating Zexion's spot. Each spot has two colors: blue and red. If blue, that means that the member is currently active, and for lack of a better term, "alive". If red, that means that the member has "deceased" and can no longer fight. This led to speculation towards Zexion due to the inability to tell if the "tomb" was red because he was dead or the spot was broken, as mentioned before.
Those that were not yet defeated had tombstones that were portals to their respective rooms within the castle, where Sora and co. had to fight them. Once the remaining Org. XIII members were defeated, the door towards Xemnas' lair would grant passsage to the team.

Addled Impasse
The arena for a battle against Org. XIII member #7, Saix. His power was that of the Moon, which he used to enter Berserk mode. Thrashing about the place, reproducing claymores in order to crush his adversary, Saix provided a tough battle. Once defeated, he turns towards the heart-shaped moon and asks Kingdom Hearts where his heart was.
Havoc's Divide
Home to the Org. XIII's master of time, Luxord. Using his cards and control over time, the battle is not just a battle of health, but battle to see who will have time left at the end of the fight. An annoyance at best, once the games have been figured out, and a strategy is developed to move around as a card or die, then the fight is simple.

The Altar of Naught
The final area before Sora and co. went into Kingdom Hearts to face their foe, Xemnas. On first arriving, Xemnas trapped Sora into a warped dimension of the area surrounding Memory's Skyscraper for a fight. It was a difficult fight, as Xemnas made use of his barriers, lightsabers, and the skyscraper itself as a battleground. When he was defeated, Sora was brought back to the Altar of Naught with his friends and watched as Xemnas, desperate to win, went to his artifical Kingdom Hearts to gain power. As he warped into Kingdom Hearts, all the worlds provided a door for Sora and co. to go through in order to pursue and defeat the villian.
Where Nothing Gathers
This area is not accessable in the normal course of the game, rather it is visited with the help of a cheat device. This is the area where Organization XIII plans it's various operations. It is a large white room, with thirteen chairs in varying heights set in a circle.
The Soundless Prison
Like above, this area is not accessable in the normal course of the game. This is the prision where Organization XIII kept Kairi.
